Angel (
Angel is the ghost of a young student who died by suicide at the age of 16. During her lifetime, she appeared to be a lonely person who struggled to connect with others. Following her death, she remains in a coastal area, seemingly the place where she lost her life.
Appearance
Angel is a young girl with a slender build and a fragile appearance. She has long, dark hair styled into twin tails tied with ribbons and straight bangs that cover her forehead. She wears a dark face mask pulled down beneath her chin, along with cross-shaped dangling earrings.
She wears a Jirai Kei-style outfit consisting of a short-sleeved blouse with ruffled shoulders, a sailor collar, and a large bow adorned with a heart at the center of her chest. She also wears a high-waisted skirt with a bow tied around the waist, a choker with a heart-shaped pendant, and a decorative garter featuring the same motif over the stocking on her left leg. Angel wears black platform shoes decorated with bows and heart-shaped ornaments, along with thigh-high stockings. Her right stocking is torn in several places, revealing multiple circular holes.
Her arms are covered in numerous horizontal scars extending from her wrists to near her shoulders. Similar marks can also be seen on her thighs.
Personality
Angel initially presents herself as a cheerful, kind, and affectionate girl who enjoys spending time with Kotaro Tamon. Due to the years she spent alone after her death, she longs for companionship and quickly develops a strong attachment to him after discovering that they share feelings of loneliness and isolation.
However, beneath her friendly demeanor lies a possessive and obsessive side. Unable to accept the idea of being separated from Kotaro, she attempts to cause his death so that they can remain together forever. This behavior reveals her emotional instability and deep dependence on those with whom she forms emotional bonds.
Plot
Angel was a 16-year-old student who died by suicide and remained as a ghost in a coastal area following her death.
Some time later, she meets Kotaro Tamon, who possesses the ability to hear and communicate with spirits. Upon realizing that they share similar feelings of loneliness and difficulty connecting with others, Angel quickly forms a close friendship with him. The two spend time together talking and sharing their interest in music, leading Kotaro to believe that he has finally found someone who truly understands him.
However, Angel gradually develops a strong emotional dependence on Kotaro. Afraid of losing the only companionship she has had since her death, she lures him to a cliff with the intention of causing his death so that they can remain together forever. When Kaoru Kanzaki reveals her true appearance and intentions, Angel abandons the friendly façade she had maintained and transforms into a vengeful spirit. After attempting to attack Kotaro, she is stopped by Mogari Shishikuno, who exorcises her by devouring her spirit.
Etymology
Angel's name contains the kanji for "heaven" (天 en) and "messenger" (使 jeru).
- She explains the characters are pronounced as enjeru, but together the characters read as the Japanese word for "angel" (天使 tenshi).
- Literally, her name can be interpreted as "Messenger of Heaven".
